Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect and implement OpenBMC support spanning BMC host functions and a coordinated ToR Ethernet switch subsystem.
  • •Define end-to-end switch-management architecture across D-Bus services, bmcweb/Redfish APIs, persistent configuration, eventing, telemetry, security, and backend switch control interfaces.
  • •Develop OpenBMC object models/services for switch inventory and components (ASICs, ports, PHYs/optics/retimers, VLANs/LAGs, FDB entries, counters, sensors, health state).
  • •Implement L2 networking capabilities (port admin control, speed/FEC, auto-negotiation, breakout, VLAN create/membership, access/trunk modes, MAC learning, flooding controls, link aggregation, loop prevention).
  • •Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce design specs, API/code documentation, unit/integration/HIL tests, and QA plans to productize the architecture.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science or related fields, with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • •Strong OpenBMC firmware development experience for x86 or ARM server environments (Yocto, systemd, D-Bus, phosphor services, bmcweb, Redfish, firmware update, device monitoring, platform security).
  • •Hands-on expertise in Ethernet switch architecture and L2 features (VLANs, trunks, access ports, LAG/LACP, STP/RSTP, LLDP, FDB/MAC learning, storm control, ACLs, QoS, PHY and transceiver diagnostics).
  • •System management software experience for rack/blade server platforms (IPMI, KCS, Redfish, PLDM, MCTP, SPDM, secure firmware update, attestation, BMC-host communication).
  • •Strong C/C++ and Python programming/debugging skills, with familiarity in Bash, Go, or Rust, and experience building reliable Linux user-space services.
