Job Summary

Operate a forklift and related lifting equipment safely and independently, following all safety rules and procedures. Read work instructions to adjust handling and manage materials, including positioning pallets/skids, unloading and stacking, weighing and labeling, maintaining inventory on the work floor, and supporting material flow to workers. Perform routine maintenance like battery recharging, fueling, lubricating, and cleaning while keeping assigned areas orderly.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate forklift as directed and without supervision while following all safety policies and procedures.
•Read job specifications to determine operator adjustments and material requirements.
•Position lifting devices around loaded pallets/skids/boxes and transport loads to designated areas.
•Unload, stack, and inventory materials; supply workers with materials as needed.
•Perform routine maintenance (recharge batteries, lubricate, fuel, clean) and maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/equivalent and at least two years of related experience in trades specific to job requirements (or equivalent education and experience).
•Must be able to pass an internal certification program.
•Ability to operate forklift controls (move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, maneuver steering).
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and stay organized.
