Job Summary

Serve as a trusted legal advisor across product development, privacy, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracting. Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and business teams to support new features and launches, conduct regulatory and privacy impact assessments (including HIPAA), negotiate SaaS and data processing agreements, and develop scalable policies, playbooks, and legal templates for a rapidly evolving AI and digital health landscape.

Key Responsibilities

•Advise product and engineering teams on new features, product launches, and platform changes.
•Conduct regulatory impact assessments for new product initiatives with a focus on responsible AI use in healthcare technology.
•Review marketing materials and promotional assets to ensure compliance with healthcare advertising regulations and FTC guidelines.
•Conduct privacy impact assessments and advise on data collection, use, storage, and sharing practices, including HIPAA obligations.
•Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (including customer contracts, SaaS subscriptions, BAAs, vendor contracts, partnerships, and data processing agreements).

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 185,000 - 235,000 annually

Key Requirements

•J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (California bar membership or eligibility preferred).
•7-8+ years of legal experience with exposure to healthcare privacy (HIPAA), technology transactions, or SaaS/digital health product counseling.
•Working knowledge of HIPAA (Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule).
•Experience drafting and negotiating technology agreements (SaaS, licensing, vendor, and data processing agreements).
•Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
