Key Responsibilities

  • •Spend most time hands-on writing, reviewing, testing, and shipping production code for the HSBC Productivity Suite.
  • •Design and deliver generative AI capabilities and integrations, owning delivery from requirements through production operation.
  • •Build secure, resilient, maintainable services with testing, deployment, monitoring, observability, and production support controls.
  • •Act as a senior technical contributor in an engineering pod: make design decisions, clarify ambiguity, remove blockers, and mentor engineers.
  • •Take an active role in production incidents, leading reviews and ensuring practical improvements from lessons learned.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering production capabilities end to end (design, coding, testing, and operations).
  • •Strong Python expertise and practical knowledge of modern engineering practices including APIs, microservices, databases, containers, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • •Hands-on experience building AI/ML/generative AI solutions and taking them from experimentation into secure, reliable production use.
  • •Practical knowledge of large language models and RAG/agentic workflows, including evaluation, guardrails, observability, and responsible AI.
  • •Ability to clarify ambiguous requirements and break complex problems into actionable deliveries with strong engineering judgement.
