Job Summary

Lead the Transfer Solutions team’s engineering direction in real-time payments, designing, building, and operating next-generation payment applications for domestic, cross-border, and bill payments. Spend most of your time hands-on coding and technical design, while coaching engineers and driving architecture decisions across distributed services. Apply domain-driven design, API standards, performance/availability engineering, and modern SDLC/DevOps practices to improve scalability, resilience, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead a team of engineers while staying hands-on with coding (expected ~70% coding) and driving engineering practices that improve software lifecycle value.
•Design and deliver technical architecture for distributed services, including dependent services, service interactions, and governing policies.
•Apply domain-driven design, consumer-driven contracts, and API standards to evolve bounded contexts and enable rapid learning and delivery.
•Improve engineering quality via interfaces, unit/acceptance tests, architecture fitness functions, and tools such as JDepend, ArchUnit, ADRs, and NetArchTest.
•Drive reliability and operational excellence through performance engineering, refactoring/technical debt reduction, chaos and operational testing practices, and collaboration on agile prioritization.

Key Requirements

•Expert in building highly resilient and scalable distributed systems with deep exposure to databases, messaging, and caching technologies.
•Proven design and development experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, and SQL, including secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT) and vulnerability management.
•Expertise in DevOps best practices, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-first software development to guide developers and abstract underlying platforms.
•Experience implementing advanced test setups in production (A/B testing, canary releases, blue-green deployments, feature flags) and operating CI/CD automation pipelines, virtualization, and containerization.
•Ability to lead technical architecture and design for complex enterprise initiatives, including service interactions, policies, performance engineering, and cost analysis across cloud environments.
