Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and implement Ameren-wide sourcing strategies for assigned categories to leverage the supply base, ensure continuity of supply, and maximize cost savings/value realization.
  • •Lead sourcing activities from proposal development and solicitation through negotiation and contract completion to maximize benefits across Ameren.
  • •Analyze and leverage spend across business segments, segment spend by category, and define current and future business needs with stakeholders.
  • •Mitigate risk and deliver highest overall total value by running supplier assessments/rationalization, diverse spend, negotiation strategy/execution, make-vs-buy analyses, should-cost models, and cycle time improvements.
  • •Maintain market intelligence and build cost models to guide category strategies; lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute category strategies that include sustainability, supplier diversity, and total cost of ownership metrics.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (MBA/graduate degree preferred).
  • •Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, including category management, strategic sourcing, purchasing, consulting, cost accounting, or finance.
  • •Direct procurement and project execution experience on one or more new combined cycle gas generation projects for an electric utility, including planning/execution of major equipment and construction procurements.
  • •SCMP or CPSM (or equivalent) designation preferred.
  • •Demonstrated proficiency in negotiating large, complex commercial agreements, navigating strategic sourcing, and using Microsoft Office Suite; thorough understanding of purchasing, accounts payable, and financial systems (Oracle Purchasing preferred).
