Key Responsibilities

  • •Own community and ecosystem strategy for open-source AI broadly, championing models, tools, agents, and evals and helping developers go from zero to shipping.
  • •Champion open-source AI through writing and storytelling (tutorials, docs, blog posts, demos, talks) including Sentient contributions where relevant.
  • •Support and drive Sentient’s open-source AI grants/investment program by sourcing, vetting, and shepherding funded teams building on the stack.
  • •Lead and scale the developer community across Discord, GitHub, and X by answering questions, reviewing contributions, and forming ecosystem partnerships.
  • •Recruit and convene ecosystem leaders, represent Sentient at events, and advocate internally by synthesizing feedback into prioritized input for product and research.

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years in developer relations, community, or ecosystem roles, ideally in open-source AI/ML, data, or infrastructure.
  • •Strong hands-on technical ability, including reading/writing code (Python and/or TypeScript) and going deep enough technically to earn developer respect.
  • •4+ years building open-source software with a deep personal network across the open-source AI community.
  • •A track record recruiting and convening senior leaders (founders, advisors, council members, thought leaders) around a mission and serving as a recognized community voice.
  • •A working understanding of LLMs, AI agents, and agent frameworks, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly through writing, demos, and talks.
