Key Responsibilities

  • •Help familiarise yourself with the project scope, design documentation, and AECOM’s quality management system.
  • •Assist with earthworks, materials, and structural principles as applied to dam and associated infrastructure design.
  • •Support drafting and detailing by preparing basic engineering drawings and schedules under supervision.
  • •Where applicable, gain exposure to construction site activities to contextualise design decisions.
  • •Assist with technical reporting, including compiling technical reports, data capture, and document management, plus health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently enrolled in a National Diploma in Civil Engineering at a recognised University of Technology and required to complete P1 and/or P2 practical training.
  • •Must be in good academic standing and submit the most recent academic transcripts with the application.
  • •Must require the full placement duration (6 or 12 months) as confirmed by the University of Technology.
  • •No prior work experience required; tertiary-level coursework is sufficient.
  • •Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is advantageous.
