Job Summary

Troubleshoot complex automation and control issues across production lines, diagnose failures, and support major downtime restoration. Use electrical prints, manuals, fault histories, and structured methods to perform advanced troubleshooting, including PLC/HMI triage. Partner with Engineering and Operations on reliability improvements, engineering change implementation support, safety upgrades (LOTO and job hazard analysis), commissioning support, and post-incident reviews to improve equipment uptime and system performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Diagnose and repair automation line failures including controls faults, sensor/encoder issues, device network problems, drive faults, and performance concerns.
•Perform advanced troubleshooting using electrical prints, device manuals, fault histories, trending, and structured methodologies such as 5-Why, fishbone, and fault trees.
•Support PLC/HMI triage by interpreting alarms, checking I/O, and verifying interlocks (partner with PLC Engineer for programming changes).
•Coordinate response for major downtime events by isolating hazards, assigning tasks, validating restoration, and documenting corrective actions.
•Support reliability and safety improvements, including recurring defect elimination, spare strategies, engineering change implementation support, commissioning/acceptance testing support, and LOTO/job hazard analysis controls.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 30.8 - 38.5 hourly

•High school diploma or GED.
•4-5 years of industrial maintenance experience with automation (or equivalent demonstrated mastery).
•Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including reading and interpreting complex schematics and equipment manuals.
•Ability to lead technical work under time pressure and coordinate across teams.
•Working knowledge of CMMS and VFDs.
