Job Summary

Perform DOT inspections and preventative maintenance for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems; road test to confirm issues; and complete documentation, DOT forms, and repair orders using a company-issued iOS device and TRAIT app. Maintain service truck readiness, manage parts inventory, and work safely under OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations while scheduling your own day.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections, including follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment systems including electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
•Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment; use test instruments and perform road tests to diagnose malfunctions.
•Independently manage parts inventory on the company service truck and maintain periodic reconciliation.
•Document work and complete DOT and other forms accurately, uploading photos and findings on repair orders using a company iOS device and TRAIT application.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as 5 years’ experience).
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform the job.
•Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
•Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a current DOT medical card with sufficient remaining validity).
•Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File; candidate must be at least 21 years or older.
