Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the development and deployment of advanced AI solutions across SMBC EMEA, including LLM-powered services, agentic workflows, and AI-enhanced applications.
  • •Oversee and deliver secure, scalable, production-grade AI systems that support strategic Capital Markets and Corporate Banking use cases.
  • •Align AI engineering deliverables and solution architecture with AI Innovation and Transformation teams.
  • •Collaborate with other technical teams and wider IT functions to ensure seamless integration, platform alignment, and compliance with enterprise standards.
  • •Embed responsible AI development practices and AI governance requirements into engineering delivery in a regulated financial environment.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree-level education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • •Proven track record delivering secure, scalable AI systems in regulated environments, ideally financial services.
  • •Deep expertise in LLM-based services/APIs, agentic workflows and orchestration, and RAG pipelines (including document intelligence/GenAI applications).
  • •Hands-on cloud-native AI development on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Vertex AI, and Gemini.
  • •Strong understanding of secure engineering, MLOps/DevSecOps (CI/CD, monitoring, drift detection, infrastructure-as-code) and AI governance/regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF).
