Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the primary liaison between Magellan and members, families, providers, and community partners to support recovery and resiliency efforts.
  • •Coordinate with peer- and family-run organizations and provider agencies to expand peer specialist use and support recovery-oriented programs.
  • •Conduct peer provider and stakeholder trainings and presentations, and facilitate meetings and committees to represent member, peer, and family participation.
  • •Perform assessments using the 8 dimensions of wellness to determine social determinant needs and support member whole-health goals and objectives.
  • •Provide ongoing interventions, document interactions per company standards, and travel to meet members, providers, and stakeholders in the community.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years experience of living with mental health/substance use recovery or being a parent/caregiver of a child with mental health/substance use challenges, working as a peer support specialist.
  • •CPRS/CPS/CPSS/CRPS/PRSS/CFSS or Peer Specialist certification as required by state, and NCPS/NCPRSS/CFPS/National Peer Support Credential required within one year of hire.
  • •Must be a self-identified person in recovery (current or former user of mental health/substance use services) OR a parent/caregiver of a child who has received such services.
  • •Valid in-state driver’s license and a vehicle in good working condition with ability to travel within the field regularly; able to work some weekends and evenings.
  • •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
