Job Summary

Design and develop electrical systems and equipment for the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN), covering engineering documentation, project progression, and sustainment engineering changes. Support system reviews, weekly engineering change reporting, fault diagnosis for outages, and system safety assessments using hazard identification and analysis. Contribute to technical planning, risk management, quality and safety, and work on high/low voltage, PLC/instrumentation, EMI, generator control, energy storage, earthing, arc flash, and UPS design. Travel to remote radar sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and review electrical engineering design documentation and electrical system/equipment designs for JORN.
•Manage electrical engineering projects from inception through incorporation, including sustainment engineering changes and participation in system reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR).
•Report weekly engineering change progress and S&Q/MPAAHS updates to the Power Generation Team Lead via electronic reporting mechanisms.
•Perform real-time and retrospective fault diagnosis for system outage events.
•Conduct system safety assessments, analyze system obsolescence risks, and support ILS assessments, planning, risk management, product safety, quality, and SHE.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Preferred tertiary qualifications in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
•Experience with requirements analysis, design, verification, and systems engineering principles.
•Background working in a technical regulatory framework (e.g. TAMM, TRAMM, NTRF).
•Experience developing detailed engineering work packages and working in defence-classified environments.
•Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain an NV1 clearance; must be able to obtain and maintain it.
