Job Summary

Develop and validate knowledge tracing and longitudinal learner models that define and operationalize mastery and progression for product features. Own model trustworthiness—calibration, fairness, stability over time, interpretability, and failure modes—so outputs are product-ready, not just accurate. Build robust training/scoring for noisy learner interaction data, then partner with engineering to productionize pipelines and monitor quality in live environments with cross-functional product and research stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build knowledge tracing and longitudinal learner models for mastery and progression features.
•Define operational constructs for mastery/progression (targets and evaluation criteria) aligned to learning outcomes and product requirements.
•Build training and scoring approaches for noisy, incomplete, evolving learner interaction data.
•Own model trustworthiness evaluation across calibration, fairness, stability, interpretability, and failure modes and set shipping standards.
•Partner with engineering to productionize models into reliable services (deployment, monitoring, and iteration loops) and collaborate with product/learning partners to translate learning theory into scalable systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: HUF 1,800,000 - 2,200,000 monthly

Key Requirements

•6+ years of experience in applied machine learning, data science, or applied research, with models shipped into real products.
•Strong depth in at least one of: knowledge tracing, sequence modeling, probabilistic modeling, temporal modeling, Bayesian approaches, or psychometrics/item response theory.
•A working understanding of computational psychometrics and rigorous measurement of a construct beyond predictive metrics.
•Ability to evaluate models beyond accuracy (calibration, uncertainty, fairness, robustness, interpretability) and make defensible ship/no-ship decisions.
•Strong Python and ML stack skills to implement and iterate on modeling pipelines, plus clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
