Job Summary

Regional tax principal driving Airbnb’s APAC tax strategy across Australia, Singapore, and other APAC geos. Partners with Legal, Policy, Finance, and external advisers to implement tax strategies, manage risk, oversee local/regional tax obligations, and support growth through tax policy alignment and governance.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage local, country and regional-level tax negotiations, audits, negotiations with government authorities, implementations and oversee compliance (e.g., Australian Taxation Office, State Revenue Offices, South Korean National Tax Service)
•Partner with local advisers and APAC Finance to oversee Airbnb’s tax obligations and provide input on local statutory reporting
•Monitor and analyse tax regulatory developments in the region and communicate impacts to Airbnb and its business model
•Research and analyse new business initiatives (including mergers & acquisitions) and maintain documented tax technical advice
•Manage special projects in the region and oversee tax integration of newly acquired businesses

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•12+ years of direct and indirect tax regional experience, preferably with Big 4 and multinational tech exposure
•Strong foundation of tax technical knowledge with international business initiative experience
•Regional tax experience in Australia and South Korea, including ATO/state tax audits and Advance Pricing Arrangements
•Independent worker capable of advising as a strategic business partner while informing stakeholders
•Some international travel may be required
