Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans from application through closing for outside referrals, working with sales leadership and a Senior Loan Originator to develop referral relationships. Follow agency/portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing procedures, while escalating underwriting and pricing exceptions. Collect required applicant documentation, manage loan pipeline through closing, and use available technology to access daily rates and credit reports, ensuring strong customer service and risk accountability.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop internal and external referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional COIs, and personas) with sales leadership and a Senior Loan Originator.
•Learn and master mortgage loan origination components, including agency/portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing procedures.
•Complete URLA applications on a laptop and manage loan files, including uploading files to operations and using technology for daily rates and applicant credit reports.
•Collect appropriate applicant documentation, deliver loan packages within management-set timeframes, and manage the loan pipeline through closing.
•Communicate timely status updates with branches and applicants, attend mortgage/consumer lending meetings, and collect application fees per policy while following escalation protocols.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent (four-year college degree preferred).
•Demonstrated organizational skills.
•Strong written and verbal communications skills.
•Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills.
•Proven computer skills and ability to complete required S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
