Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead design vision and execution for consumer touchpoints across compass.com and native iOS/Android apps, improving discovery, search, listing exploration, and decision-making experiences.
  • •Drive upward alignment with Directors, VPs, and executives by framing design challenges around business value and customer outcomes, and integrating feedback into team priorities.
  • •Ensure operational diligence across design workstreams by scoping and resourcing projects, managing capacity, setting milestones, and tracking timelines with Product and Program Management.
  • •Manage, coach, and evaluate a team of product designers (mid-level to senior/staff ICs), including 1:1s, performance reviews, and fostering a psychologically safe environment.
  • •Champion design quality through critiques and reviews, and partner across Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Design Systems to implement reusable patterns and data-informed iterations.

Key Requirements

  • •8-10+ years of product/UX design experience, including 2-4+ years leading and developing product designers.
  • •Experience leading design for high-traffic consumer digital products across responsive web and native iOS/Android apps at scale.
  • •Proven operational rigor: resourcing multiple workstreams, establishing delivery cadences, tracking timeline health, and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • •Strong executive communication and storytelling, including pitching design vision, building consensus, and leading high-stakes reviews.
