Job Summary

Serve as a senior legal advisor for Mastercard’s Blockchain & Digital Assets team within Core Payments, partnering across Product, Business Development, Privacy, Compliance, and Regulatory teams. Lead legal support for the development and daily operations of digital assets products, including stablecoin and embedded finance solutions. Advise on complex regulatory and commercial risks, draft and negotiate technology and commercial contracts, monitor legal changes, and instruct external counsel while driving process improvements.

•Lead legal support for the strategic development and daily operations of Mastercard’s global digital assets products and services.
•Manage tactical and strategic legal support for stablecoin, digital assets, and blockchain strategy to advance corporate objectives.
•Collaborate with product, technology, regulatory, sales, marketing, and other teams to support development and launch of innovative solutions.
•Advise executive-level stakeholders on mitigating legal, regulatory, and commercial risks with solution-oriented guidance.
•Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and instruct/manage external counsel within agreed policy and budget.

Key Requirements

•Qualified lawyer licensed to practice in New York with a solid academic and training background.
•Experience in financial services and emerging technology, including stablecoin and other digital currencies and public/private blockchains.
•Experience advising on legal issues for digital-asset products and solutions, with good working knowledge of the regulatory landscape.
•Experience across commercial and technology contracts, including analyzing core legal issues and communicating technical problems clearly.
•Working knowledge of data privacy and intellectual property issues as they relate to emerging technology such as digital assets.
