Job Summary

Join the Water Resources team to design stormwater conveyance and drainage solutions across North Carolina. Serve as a primary designer, supporting the engineering process from preliminary alternatives through final design, permitting, bidding, and construction. Build hydrologic/hydraulic models, produce plans and technical reports, and work with local teams to deliver projects such as stream restoration and SCM design while collaborating with experienced engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

•Engage with local project teams for statewide water resources work and community impact.
•Contribute to design efforts across engineering phases, supporting delivery from alternatives analysis through final design, permitting, bidding, and construction.
•Support preparation of technical reports and designs for water resources projects.
•Ensure plans, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
•Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and related policies.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Biological & Agriculture, or a related engineering field from an accredited program.
•Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
•On track to acquire a professional engineer’s (PE) license within four years.
•More than two years of relevant experience in civil engineering principles and practices, including project experience in areas such as grading/plan production and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses.
•Strong background using modeling and design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, CivilStorm/StormCAD, SWMM, and HEC-RAS.
