Key Responsibilities

  • •Include an assessment/check-for-understanding activity during lessons where appropriate and use formative and summative assessment tools.
  • •Maintain an attractive, organized, and clean library environment aligned to curricular topics and developmentally appropriate classroom routines.
  • •Select, order, process, and publicize new materials; acquire and organize diverse resources and provide access to databases, portals, websites, blogs, videos, and other media.
  • •Teach students strategies for collecting and evaluating information (tags/hashtags/feeds and real-time searches) and promote the joy of reading using tools like Shelfari, Good Reads, and LibraryThing.
  • •Collaborate with classroom teachers, coordinate library management activities, provide after-hours reading events, and comply with safeguarding and child protection policies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in a classroom setting.
  • •Experience in a similar classroom support/librarian role is desired.
  • •Good levels of written and spoken English.
