Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the internal audit process for Wise entities in Japan, including global and regional scope.
  • •Implement and operate the internal audit assurance framework, including development of continuous monitoring and automated audit routines.
  • •Develop and drive the annual audit plan, including audit universe, risk assessment processes, and budgeting.
  • •Deliver audits per the audit plan to ensure timely, relevant audit outcomes and recommendations.
  • •Plan, assign, supervise the audit team, and monitor implementation and effectiveness of internal audit recommendations.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in internal audit, risk, or control functions in fintech, digital banking, retail brokerage, or high-growth technology, leading complex end-to-end risk-based audits.
  • •Expert-level knowledge of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA).
  • •Working knowledge of related Japanese regulations, including Payment Services Act, AML/transfer of criminal proceeds prevention, JSDA/industry rules, data privacy laws, and customer asset safeguarding.
  • •Strong experience planning, staffing, delivering, and reporting multiple audit engagements, including oversight and team leadership.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance, or equivalent; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or CAMS are highly desirable.
