Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare proposals, conceptual designs, and execution plans including engineering cost and man-hour estimates and schedules.
  • •Serve as a lead technical role on P&C design deliverables (11kV to 400kV), including Lead Project Engineer responsibilities as appropriate.
  • •Produce detailed electricity substation protection and control design packages compliant with client/technical standards (e.g., ENA/BS/IEC/IEEE).
  • •Design protection and control systems and related documentation (panel arrangements, KLD/three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, studies, and calculations).
  • •Coordinate design activities across civil/structural, networks, and transmission line; conduct design reviews; drive Safety by Design; mentor other engineers and coordinate with UK teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • •10-15 years of experience in substation transmission & distribution, including renewable (onshore & offshore wind/solar) and BESS projects.
  • •Thorough knowledge applying UK National Grids technical specifications, technical guidance notes, and design handbooks for substation protection & control.
  • •Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures, including calculations and engineering studies (e.g., voltage drop, AC/DC load).
  • •Strong communication skills and ability to work methodically in a quantitative, analytical problem-solving environment.
