Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
  • •Assist service members with establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • •Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle, including arrival at first duty station and pre-/post-deployment.
  • •Use virtual counseling/electronic communication methods when authorized and manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree required (may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Must have one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
