Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and site conditions to define scope and prepare accurate material/labor/equipment takeoffs and estimates.
  • •Create detailed estimates for self-performed work and build winning bid packages, including analysis of subcontractor quotes for varying project sizes.
  • •Cultivate and expand the customer base using sales acumen to initiate opportunities and maintain client relationships.
  • •Oversee contracted projects from bid through closeout—champion safety, develop/update schedules, and assist with payroll and progress reporting.
  • •Review job costs daily/weekly/monthly, manage and price change orders, coordinate subcontractors/vendors, conduct site visits, and support continuous improvement versus estimates.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent education/experience) is strongly preferred.
  • •At least five years of experience in construction, paving, and/or estimating with a track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • •Ability to interpret drawings, instructions, correspondence, and memos accurately, with strong quantitative skills for calculations and graph interpretation.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills to present clearly to customers, clients, and team members.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software tools used for bids and scheduling.
