Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, prepare, and execute UAS missions, including VLOS and BVLOS operations, in diverse environments.
  • •Serve as Safety Pilot and manually fly fixed-wing, rotorcraft, and VTOL UAS platforms as needed.
  • •Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections and ensure operational readiness and safety.
  • •Integrate hardware and software into UAS platforms (sensors, actuators, flight controllers, and networking systems) and collaborate to prototype/test new subsystems.
  • •Troubleshoot UAS systems during field operations, maintain flight logs and safety documentation, and contribute to safe operating procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a valid Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • •Significant experience manually operating UAS/RC aircraft on fixed-wing, rotorcraft, and FW VTOL airframes.
  • •Hands-on understanding of FAA Part 107 operations, including Operational Safety Cases and obtaining operational authorizations.
  • •Expert proficiency with Pixhawk or Cube Orange flight controllers and mission planning software (Mission Planner, QGroundControl).
  • •Proficiency with Linux command line tools and strong networking fundamentals (IP configuration, routing, and data transmission protocols).
