Job Summary

Support geotechnical engineering project delivery for clients by performing field investigations and construction oversight, setting up investigations under general supervision, and collecting and analyzing subsurface, sample, survey, and GIS data. Assist with quality control, basic engineering computations (e.g., foundation design and slope stability), and drafting/redesigning layouts and drawings. Help prepare geotechnical design reports and coordinate field work and permitting, with potential travel within Arizona and the western US.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform geotechnical field investigations and construction oversight.
•Set up geotechnical investigations under general supervision, including coordinating activities like traffic control, permitting, and utility locates.
•Collect, compile, and analyze site and subsurface data (samples, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, maps) for project design and construction.
•Support quality control standards and perform basic engineering computations (e.g., quantity calculations, foundation design, slope stability) under guidance.
•Prepare geotechnical design reports and support work plan preparation and coordination of field/site work and permitting.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
•1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
•Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
•EIT, or ability to obtain the EIT within 1 year of hire.
•Proficiency with MS Word and Excel and strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
