Job Summary

Lead and support Safety, Health & Quality delivery for construction projects in Ireland, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal Turner & Townsend SHQ procedures. Act as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP), coordinate design-safety activities, and prepare AF1, Safety Files, risk registers, and preliminary safety plans. Provide SHQ consultancy through inspections/audits, reviews of health & safety documentation, RAMS and high-risk workshop attendance, and expert advice to clients throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and/or support SHQ team delivery of projects in Ireland in line with legislative requirements and internal SHQ procedures.
•Act as PSDP: prepare and submit AF1, confirm safety file information, coordinate design safety across disciplines, and lead design health & safety workshops.
•Prepare and update design risk registers, preliminary safety and health plans, and contribute to tender health & safety requirements and reviews.
•Provide SHQ consultancy to clients by conducting inspections/audits, reviewing health & safety documentation (e.g., plans, emergency plans, RAMS, temporary works, lift plans), and reporting findings.
•Attend design/progress meetings and lifecycle reviews, coordinate safety-related deliverables with PSCS and design teams, and provide expert advice including accident/incident review reporting.

Key Requirements

•Extensive knowledge of Irish safety, health and environmental legislation and construction best practice.
•Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management system standards.
•Familiarity with construction projects and the safety and health issues associated with them.
•Ability to compile inspection/audit reports and perform analysis (e.g., trend analysis) to deadlines.
•Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (or similar), plus Lead Auditor certification and circa 10+ years relevant experience.
