Job Summary

Provide high-level guidance for collecting, identifying, compiling, and analyzing biological and environmental data for projects across vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, marine/terrestrial species, and related permitting work. Lead the preparation of survey reports, impact assessments, and permit documentation, ensuring compliance with laws and maintaining data integrity. Oversee cross-functional teams, support desk/field/lab work, produce technical reports and visualizations, and contribute to business development and proposal writing.

Key Responsibilities

•Guide data collection and compile observational and spatial data for vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, and other biological species and matrices.
•Analyze literature, data, and laboratory samples to identify biological impacts and support impact assessment work.
•Prepare biological survey reports, data entry, technical reports/presentations, and permitting documentation (e.g., ESA, CWA, CEQA, NEPA).
•Ensure regulatory compliance for data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring, and record retention.
•Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams and support desk-based research, fieldwork, and/or laboratory work; mentor junior staff and participate in proposals/business development.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field.
•10+ years of experience as an environmental scientist completing environmental surveys (e.g., vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, avian, marine), fieldwork, habitat and impact assessments, and/or wetland delineations.
•Expertise in environmental laws, permitting requirements, compliance practices, and applicable local/state/federal regulatory frameworks.
•Demonstrated experience coordinating with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, and environmental technical staff.
•Familiarity with NEPA/State analysis and preparation of associated documentation, plus strong technical report leadership and review experience.
