Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in creation and standardization of planning activities for AJISS Docking Work Periods (DWP).
  • •Serve as secondary point of contact between Thales and MEPM (NC) for DWP-related activities.
  • •Coordinate planning meetings and progress review meetings across stakeholders, including engineering readiness and procurement/service delivery partners.
  • •Compile and manage DWP RFP packages (and unsolicited proposal packages), including bidder conference support, bid response coordination, and package review/selection.
  • •Support on-site Thales personnel and oversee selected shipyard execution; review arising scope/budget/timeline fit, attend progress review meetings, and ensure lessons learned are captured and actioned.

Key Requirements

  • •Engineering degree or a 2-year technical diploma in a marine technical field (or equivalent technologist certification), or relevant Canadian Armed Forces qualification as a Marine System Engineer (MS ENG HOD) or Naval Combat System (NCS ENG HOD).
  • •5+ years managing vessel maintenance or engineering within the last 10 years.
  • •Demonstrated experience supervising teams undertaking maintenance activities.
  • •Demonstrated experience managing at least one vessel refit or docking work period of at least $10,000,000 CAD within the last 5 years.
  • •Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
