Job Summary

Lead and coordinate Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) maintenance as the senior technical authority, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient fleet operations. Provide expert guidance to maintenance teams, contractors, and work-execution processes, driving improvements in equipment performance, fleet reliability, and operating cost through investigations, benchmarking, and root-cause analysis. Partner with MEM leadership, mine operations, and stakeholders to optimize maintenance strategies, compliance, safety culture, and asset management across a range of HME equipment.

Key Responsibilities

•Support MEM senior leadership to manage maintenance teams across Heavy Mobile Equipment fleets.
•Lead technical investigations and troubleshooting for major failures and maintenance process performance issues.
•Develop and implement strategies to optimize MEM performance, improve work output, fleet reliability, and reduce operating costs.
•Facilitate root cause analysis for major equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
•Provide technical leadership for maintenance and reliability activities, including safety, compliance, risk assessments, and mentorship/coaching for Superintendents and Specialists.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, Heavy Duty Fitter trade qualification, or a related discipline.
•8–12 years of experience in maintenance leadership, superintendent-level, or manager-level roles.
•Proven experience managing Heavy Mobile Equipment fleets (e.g., haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, drills, graders, and support equipment).
•Strong understanding of asset management, fleet maintenance planning, budgeting, and workforce management.
•Strong knowledge of OEM maintenance practices (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Epiroc, Sandvik) and maintenance/reliability strategy development.
