Job Summary

Manage new and existing tooling to support the machine shop, including changes, repairs, improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support development and modification of machining processes, tooling package setup, and investigation of tooling availability for machining applications. Develop special custom design tools, sign off on custom tooling, track tooling performance and cost savings ideas, and coordinate with vendors to purchase tools. Perform 3D design using Catia V5 or NX.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage changes, repairs, and improvements to existing tooling using Zoller data.
•Support the development of new machining processes and modify existing machining processes and practices.
•Support setup of tooling packages for the machine shop.
•Lead continuous improvement efforts in tooling and investigate tooling availability for machining processes.
•Develop special design tools, sign off on custom tooling, coordinate with vendors to purchase tools, and track tooling performance and cost savings ideas.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a university degree (or equivalent experience) with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
•Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
•Previous experience using SAP or other related ERP systems.
•Previous experience managing relationships with vendors.
•Experience using Excel, Outlook and Word software.
