Job Summary

Lead delivery of structural engineering projects for the energy sector in the UK, providing technical leadership and coordinating with UK/client teams. Prepare feasibility studies, assemble design specifications, define scope and building requirements, and carry out detailed designs to WSP and B Regulations standards, including CDM, QA and sign-off. Manage design calculations, tender documentation inputs, day-to-day queries, construction variances, and team development through technical excellence and risk awareness.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare feasibility study reports and review them with the UK/clients of the Structures team.
•Assemble and monitor a design specification compliant with employers’ requirements and ensure timely delivery.
•Agree and monitor scope of works with the Project Director of Structures and define building requirements with the Associate/Principal Engineer and UK team.
•Carry out detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standards, ensuring CDM and QA processes, including complex calculations and coordination issues, with sign-off.
•Support construction delivery by reviewing calculation production, assisting tender documentation via the UK team, handling day-to-day queries, reporting design variances, and coaching junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Chartered Engineer IStructE (highly desirable) or with ICE.
•BEng/MEng/MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.
•Minimum 15+ years of experience in the Energy & Distributions sector, preferably in AIS & GIS types of substations.
•Preferable experience with international codes such as American and Euro codes.
•Conversant in Tekla, Robot, and STAAD; experience in BIM 360; fluent in English with strong technical terminology.
