Job Summary

Lead supply chain optimization across inbound logistics, focusing on materials import and expediting performance. You’ll train and coordinate teams, manage suppliers and logistics partners (freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport companies), and ensure shipment traceability against PO types and KPIs. Own continuous improvement through Lean, governance of SOPs and management of change, and drive digital transformation using data analysis and tools such as Power BI and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Train and coordinate the expediting team and communicate clear work instructions to ensure day-to-day expediting follows formal processes.
•Manage suppliers and coordinate with procurement, freight forwarders, customs agencies, and transport to resolve time-sensitive issues and maintain open purchase order lifecycle compliance.
•Create, implement, and supervise SOPs for expediting processes, including 3PL and OSD processes, and oversee international and local expediting traceability across PO types.
•Define and lead KPI governance for 3PL, freight forwarder, agents, transport companies, and customs broker services; provide contractor oversight to ensure correct handling, storage, transportation, and reporting.
•Champion business intelligence and continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean application, KPI development, PMO standards, management of change, and driving departmental digital transformation.

Key Requirements

•Degree in logistics and supply management (or equivalent) plus a tertiary qualification in Engineering, statistics, mathematics, Supply Chain, economics, or data science.
•8 years of progressive logistics management experience in commercial/logistics, preferably in a mining environment.
•5+ years in a supervisory role with the ability to lead a team.
•Apply systems thinking and strong data analysis to identify opportunities, inefficiencies, and potential savings in the supply chain.
•Knowledge of ERP systems (advantage: JDE Oracle), API connectivity, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Power BI; eSourcing tool implementation experience is preferred.
