Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Render datastores anchored on Postgres, covering provisioning/lifecycle, HA/DR, backups/point-in-time recovery, scaling/performance, connection management, and extensions.
  • •Drive prioritization across data investments, balancing foundational reliability work (replication, failover, storage performance) with near-term product and business needs.
  • •Partner with Engineering and other Product teams to shape the technical direction of the data layer, optimizing for durability, performance, and operational simplicity.
  • •Develop an opinionated view on how managed Postgres should evolve for AI-native builders, including vector workloads and agentic state patterns.
  • •Set standards for how developers experience data on Render through guidance, defaults, and abstractions that enable production databases without a dedicated DBA.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years in Product Management, with most experience in databases, data infrastructure, developer tools, or platform products.
  • •Familiarity with Postgres, including architecture, operational model, ecosystem, and production tradeoffs (bonus for perspective on agentic workloads and AI-native usage patterns).
  • •Deep developer empathy and the technical depth to make sound architectural tradeoffs with engineering.
