Key Responsibilities

  • •Adhere to health, safety, environment, and quality requirements and applicable legal regulations.
  • •Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on smelting hot metal equipment, including hydraulic units, pumps, tapping/plugging machines, electrode columns, and conveyors.
  • •Maintain molten metal launders and tap blocks and associated cooling water piping networks.
  • •Identify equipment defects, troubleshoot, and rectify defects.
  • •Support standby, overtime, and call-out requirements while working in dust, heat, and noise conditions.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum Grade 12.
  • •Craft Certificate or equivalent in Mechanical Fitting.
  • •EIZ Certification.
  • •Qualifications must be certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
  • •Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining smelting plant equipment or similar.
