Job Summary

Senior Transit Design Engineer leading BRT design efforts across core US locations (Salt Lake City, Denver or Phoenix) within the West Region Transit/Rail group. Will serve as discipline lead or task leader on planning, preliminary and final design of Bus Rapid Transit projects, coordinating with multi-discipline teams, preparing cost estimates, PS&E deliverables, and mentoring entry-level engineers in a hybrid work setting.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead planning studies, preliminary design studies and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects or serve as a discipline lead or technical task leader.
•Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids for BRT infrastructure; review multimodal street designs.
•Coordinate interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and contribute to engineering budget and schedule development.
•Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort for projects; ensure PS&E package completion with quality control reviews.
•Provide leadership and mentorship to entry-level engineers and work with teams to complete primary design elements with limited supervision.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 130,000 - 190,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field + 8 Years of Relevant Experience in transportation design or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
•Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Colorado, Arizona or Utah or ability to attain reciprocity within six (6) months or hire.
•Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or Power GeoPak
•Ability to prepare engineering design reports and construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, and/or rail
•Roadway design experience, Bus Rapid Transit and/or Light Rail Transit design experience
