Job Summary

Join the Development Tools IT team to provide senior, hands-on 2nd/3rd line support for a highly technical developer user base (~120 users) across Bristol and Dublin. Own complex support tickets and troubleshoot Windows desktop/server, Linux and macOS endpoints, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, networking, and virtualization. Support patching/vulnerability remediation, endpoint security, monitoring, backup/recovery, documentation, and infrastructure improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as a senior technical escalation point within the local IT team and take ownership of complex 2nd/3rd line support tickets.
•Troubleshoot advanced Windows desktop, Linux and macOS endpoint, server and infrastructure issues, including Windows 11 laptops/desktops and developer workstations.
•Support Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, Remote Desktop Services) and assist with local domain administration and Group Policy improvements.
•Administer virtualization (VMware/ESXi) and support migration work to Proxmox hypervisor.
•Manage patching/vulnerability remediation, endpoint security, monitoring/alerts, backup and recovery, and maintain documentation/runbooks in Confluence.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience in a senior 2nd line, 3rd line, infrastructure support, systems support, or similar role.
•Excellent Windows 11 support and troubleshooting skills, including hands-on Windows Server support and administration.
•Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
•Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, file services and permissions, plus networking fundamentals (subnets, VLANs, switching, routing, VPNs, firewalls).
•Hands-on VMware administration experience, including managing/building virtual machines and working with virtualisation and patching/vulnerability remediation.
