Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide behavioral health assessments, counseling, and intervention services to support psychological, emotional, and social well-being.
  • •Deliver diagnostic assessment, brief interventions, case management, consultation, and participate in research and program development activities.
  • •Conduct clinical evaluations and evidence-based therapies using individual, family, group psychotherapy, couples therapy, and alcohol/drug treatment evaluations as appropriate.
  • •Use validated symptom inventories to assess severity and contact referred clients to assess treatment adherence.
  • •Participate in required meetings and may provide clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s or doctoral degree in social work (CSWE) and independent LCSW licensure, or a qualifying master’s/doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy (COAMFTE) with AAMFT clinical membership, or an allied mental health degree with AAMFT-equivalent study plus credentialing/credential requirements.
  • •Master’s degree in professional counseling with independent licensure and passing NCMHCE (or equivalent exam determined by the Defense Health Agency).
  • •Minimum of 2 years of peer-reviewable clinical work experience in a mental health setting.
  • •Meet credentialing and privileging standards per Defense Health Agency Procedures Manual 6025.13.
  • •Experience providing brief behavioral interventions.
