Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the design, verification, and performance assessment of tunnel ventilation systems (TVS) for rail, road, and metro tunnels.
  • •Act as the primary technical representative to clients, participating in workshops/reviews and answering technical queries.
  • •Prepare and/or review engineering calculations, system layouts, mechanical design drawings, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
  • •Develop simulation models and conduct fire/smoke simulations using SES/IDA Tunnel/FDS (or equivalents) and 3D CFD with Pyrosim for smoke management.
  • •Coordinate TVS design with other disciplines (SMEP, architecture, systems, civil), and prepare space proofing, equipment access/maintenance planning, and Modes of Operation (MoO) tables integrated with SCADA/tunnel control systems.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in metro, MRT/LRT, rail/road tunnel ventilation design and simulation.
  • •Proficiency in SES (Subway environment simulation), IDA Tunnel, FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator), or equivalent software.
  • •Ability to lead the development of a new multidisciplinary engineering team and drive high-quality technical delivery.
  • •Familiarity with BIM workflows and design coordination platforms (ACC, SharePoint, ProjectWise).
  • •Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and experience with complex engineering calculations, engineering tests, and gathering/correlating engineering data.
