Job Summary

Lead mechanical HVAC engineering design packages from concept through detailed engineering for mining, metals, and heavy industrial infrastructure projects. Develop HVAC systems, specifications, calculations, and deliverables that enable safe, reliable, high-performing operations. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review drawings and engineering documents for quality and code compliance, and provide mentorship to intermediate and junior engineers while engaging with clients and contractors to solve complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead mechanical HVAC engineering design packages from concept development through detailed engineering with technical excellence.
•Develop HVAC systems, specifications, calculations, and project deliverables for safe and high-performing operations.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical design with process, structural, electrical, controls, and construction requirements.
•Review designs, drawings, and engineering documents for quality, constructability, and adherence to codes and best practices.
•Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers and support team growth. (Also includes client/contractor engagement to resolve technical challenges.)

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 111,000 - 162,800 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
•At least 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience on mining and heavy industrial projects.
•Experience with flue gas, dust collection, and ventilation ducting (asset).
•Hold (or be eligible for) a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada.
•Comfort working in the field/onsite as needed and adhering to safety requirements.
