Assist the Chief Engineer with the day-to-day engine room operation of vessels/tugs, ensuring safe and efficient machinery performance. Maintain engine room and deck machinery, verify safety systems operate within required parameters, and respond to internal/external stakeholder needs. Own assigned objectives, help coordinate across departments, and communicate clearly while resolving conflicts and mediating between stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Chief Engineer with day-to-day engine room operation and vessel/tug movements/activities/operations per NMDC regulations and procedures.
•Ensure maintenance of engine room and deck machinery for smooth operations.
•Ensure machineries and safety systems operate safely, efficiently, and within provided parameters.
•Take ownership of own objectives and objectives of the division.
•Investigate, understand, and respond to internal and external stakeholder needs while building client/contractor relations and mediating conflicts.

Key Requirements

•Degree or Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
•COC (certificate of competency) as 2E.
•Minimum 5 years of sea-going experience.
•Experience supporting day-to-day engine room operations and vessel/tug activities.
•Ability to ensure maintenance and operation of engine room and deck machinery and safety systems within parameters.
