Job Summary

Lead the development, implementation, and governance of retail credit risk models and scorecards across the portfolio lifecycle. Drive IFRS 9 ECL and Basel-aligned modelling, including staging, overlays, stress testing (including climate risk), and RWA reporting support. Monitor performance with backtesting and recalibration, ensure audit-ready governance, and deploy models into production with robust MLOps. Mentor junior analysts and partner with policy, finance, IT, and data teams to optimize provisioning and capital decisions.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk models and scorecards (PD, LGD, EAD) across the retail portfolio lifecycle.
•Design and enhance credit risk modelling frameworks and analytical techniques to support underwriting and portfolio management decisions.
•Monitor, document, backtest, and recalibrate model performance to keep models accurate, stable, and compliant over time.
•Support Basel regulatory reporting (including RWA estimation) and lead/support IFRS 9 ECL modelling with scenario-based estimation and stress testing (including climate risk).
•Establish model governance practices, deploy models into production systems/rating platforms, and mentor junior analysts.

Key Requirements

•10–12+ years of experience in credit risk modelling within retail banking or financial services.
•Deep expertise in statistical modelling, machine learning, and large-scale data analysis for credit risk models and scorecards.
•Proven experience in IFRS 9 ECL modelling and Basel frameworks, including model lifecycle management (development, validation, deployment, monitoring).
•Advanced technical skills in SAS, SQL, and Python/R, with proficiency handling large datasets and data platforms (e.g., Hadoop).
•Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to explain complex modelling concepts and translate quantitative outputs into business decisions.
