Job Summary

Provide senior legal support to internal commercial, programming, ad sales, marketing, and International Media Distribution teams across EMEA. Draft and negotiate distribution, content acquisition, advertising, and sponsorship agreements, and advise on marketing and consumer law topics. Serve as primary legal adviser for IMD distribution of third-party foreign language channels into the US, track relevant legislative and regulatory developments, and partner with IP, Litigation, Privacy, and Employment lawyers.

Key Responsibilities

•Draft and negotiate distribution agreements for entertainment and news channels, direct-to-consumer offerings, and brands across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
•Draft and negotiate content acquisition, advertising, and sponsorship agreements, advising on marketing and consumer law issues as needed.
•Act as primary legal adviser for the IMD business, representing third-party foreign language channels for distribution into the US (with team support).
•Stay current on legislative and regulatory developments across EMEA and Asia Pacific, including copyright, advertising, and compliance matters.
•Collaborate with specialist IP, Litigation, Privacy, and Employment lawyers, and support project work and product launches.

Key Requirements

•Be eligible to work in the UK.
•Be qualified to practise law in the UK (preferred; other jurisdictions considered) with 6-10 years’ post-qualification experience (more experience welcome).
•Lead the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, with IP or transactional corporate experience highly advantageous.
•Manage internal stakeholders while balancing legal risk with commercial objectives and meeting deadlines.
•Demonstrate strong drafting, communication, accuracy, attention to detail, and prioritisation skills.
