Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish and execute merchandising strategies to fuel growth and improve the Japan customer experience.
  • •Define and implement door profiling strategy, driving omni-channel sales forecast and buying strategy to support category growth.
  • •Partner with Inventory Management and Finance Planning to optimize sales forecast, investment strategies, and identify growth opportunities.
  • •Manage product liabilities and lead timely, profitable liquidation action plans.
  • •Lead and develop direct reports, drive change management using new technologies/AI, and report weekly business trends with competitive analysis.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 12+ years of experience in buying or merchandising within fashion/luxury or lifestyle, from concept through execution, including leading multiple categories and a sizable team.
  • •Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience leading buying and planning teams.
  • •Global mindset and ability to partner with global stakeholders to drive Japan’s merchandising strategy, ideally in an international matrix organization.
  • •Proven people management experience developing teams and individuals.
  • •English language fluency is required; Japanese proficiency is a plus.
