Set up and operate conventional or CNC machine tools to fabricate, repair, and modify tools, dies, jigs, and gauges. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances to meet specifications using precision measuring instruments, study blueprints and tolerances, and perform test runs with adjustments as needed. Select suitable metals, heat-treat parts using furnace controls, and inspect finished dies for smoothness and defects.
