Key Responsibilities

  • •Apply safety principles to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities for self and others.
  • •Provide specialised close protection services to secure senior managers, executives, and VIP visitors per the Protection Services Operational Plan.
  • •Respond tactically to security incidents, criminal activity, or alarm activations to prevent harm to the organisation or its people.
  • •Conduct preliminary crime scene investigations, preserve scenes, interview witnesses, take statements, open investigation dockets, and maintain case books and exhibit registers.
  • •Perform patrols, roadblocks, vehicle searches, prohibited substance testing, manage high-risk crowds/riots, and conduct security audits and surveys with detailed reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 (NQF Level 4); Security-related National Certificate (NQF4) and Security-related Higher National Certificate (NQF5) advantageous.
  • •Registered with PSIRA as a Grade B Security Officer.
  • •Firearm Competency (including SAPS competency).
  • •Basic Investigations Course and comprehensive practical knowledge of criminal investigation.
  • •3-5 years of relevant experience in safety/security, preferably in a mining environment.
