Job Summary

Work on threat-informed detection and adversary validation to help determine whether emerging attacker techniques can be detected and disrupted. Research vulnerabilities, exploits, malware, and evolving adversarial tradecraft, then translate TTPs into detection strategies, analytics, and defensive requirements. Validate and improve detection coverage through controlled testing, purple-team exercises, and repeatable attack simulations while partnering across Threat Intelligence, Security Operations, Incident Response, and Product.

Key Responsibilities

•Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, exploits, malware, and adversary campaigns, translating findings into actionable defensive requirements.
•Develop and validate detection strategies by turning attacker TTPs into detection logic, analytics, behavioral indicators, and defensive coverage improvements.
•Conduct controlled adversary simulations (including purple-team/attack-and-defend) to test security controls and detections against realistic attack scenarios.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Threat Intelligence, Security Operations, Incident Response, Product/Engineering) to improve detection fidelity and operational response.
•Build tooling and automation to improve the speed, scale, and repeatability of detection validation, and communicate complex technical findings clearly.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 114,000 - 152,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of hands-on experience in offensive security, threat research, detection engineering, threat intelligence, incident response, or a closely related discipline.
•Strong understanding of modern attacker tradecraft and the ability to analyze how real-world adversaries operate.
•Experience researching vulnerabilities, exploits, malware, or emerging attack techniques and translating adversary behaviors/TTPs into detection opportunities or defensive requirements.
•Hands-on experience with adversary emulation, red teaming, penetration testing, or attack simulation.
•Scripting/programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) plus understanding of security telemetry and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
