Job Summary

Maintain and improve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding/cutting, and shop-tool skills across the assigned feed mill area. Follow all safety procedures and good housekeeping, troubleshoot and work with single- and three-phase motors, single-phase circuits, fuses, thermal units, and common electrical devices using test equipment. Perform plumbing, conveyor/power transmission, lubrication, welding and cutting tasks, and use shop tools while supporting startup, preventative maintenance, and production uptime.

Key Responsibilities

•Work in an assigned area of responsibility, demonstrating mechanical attitude and improving skills across multiple maintenance disciplines.
•Know and utilize safety procedures, including lockout procedures and use of proper personal protective equipment requirements.
•Perform electrical maintenance tasks such as hooking up motors, identifying burned-up motors, checking fuses, and working with starters/switches using connection data.
•Handle mechanical and plumbing expectations, including conveyors, power transmission chains, belts, lubrication requirements, piping/fittings, and installing pipes with minimal restrictions and no leaks.
•Carry out welding and cutting and shop-tool duties, including making serviceable welds on steel and aluminum, using cutting torches, soft soldering, and following blueprint guidance.

Key Requirements

•Show evidence of a mechanical attitude and continuously improve skill and knowledge across two or more maintenance areas.
•Know and follow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping habits.
•Be able to troubleshoot and work with single- and three-phase motors, identify failed motors, and run single-phase circuits.
•Use testing tools including an amp probe, volt meter, and continuity tester; be able to check fuses and reset/replace thermal heater units.
•Develop competence across mechanical, plumbing, and welding/cutting areas, including performing basic shop-tool and tool-maintenance tasks.
