Job Summary

Lead technical delivery for process engineering on mining infrastructure projects, with a focus on pumping systems, pipeline networks, and water management. Combine process design, hydraulic analysis, and pipeline/pumping system design to produce key deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic modelling, hazard studies (HAZOP/LOPA), SIL assessments, and commissioning support. Mentor engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Australia and India, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and analysis of pumping systems and pipeline/network systems for water, slurry, and dewatering.
•Define system philosophy including pumping strategy, operating scenarios, overpressure and surge protection, and brownfield tie-ins.
•Undertake and lead process design work and studies (concept design, design basis, material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, hazardous area assessment, equipment datasheets, and process calculations).
•Perform and validate hydraulic modelling and analyses (e.g., PumpSim or equivalent), including flow scenarios, pipe sizing, and pressure rating.
•Provide technical assurance, mentor engineers, coordinate multidisciplinary delivery, and ensure designs meet WSP quality standards and relevant Australian/international codes while supporting commissioning.

Key Requirements

•13-16 years of experience in process engineering.
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; master’s preferred (PG diploma/certificate in piping engineering is an asset).
•Provide strong organizational, technical, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
•Familiarity working in a LEAN environment and experience with projects in Australia or New Zealand is an advantage.
•C. Eng or P. Eng qualification would be an added advantage; excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
