Key Responsibilities

  • •Define, plan, and execute projects to run, grow, and transform MongoDB’s self-service internal developer platform.
  • •Take on direct reports and organize work for a team of platform engineers in coordination with other engineering leads.
  • •Lead by example and mentor other engineers.
  • •Investigate gaps in existing development workflows and translate new infrastructure/platform requirements into platform work.
  • •Write and review automation, configuration management, and application code; author and review scoping and functional specifications for platform projects.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years managing and mentoring a team of 3+ engineers.
  • •5+ years owning the design and implementation of large software/infrastructure projects.
  • •Built and operated large-scale distributed systems in cloud providers, with AWS strongly preferred.
  • •Fluency in Go strongly preferred (or deep experience in another compiled/strongly-typed backend language).
  • •Strong production experience operating Kubernetes clusters and defining/operating SLI/SLOs for owned services.
